I am planning to shift careers from being a health care professional to a real estate agent… I know that being a nurse in the United States is one of the best way to seek greener pasture but I don't want to leave my country alone because there is too much problem here (and it breaks my heart) including the brain drain of professionals. Professionals that should have been helping the country to move forward even if there are great risks at stake for them (or for us in my case).
So before I leave for the States, Australia or for United Kingdom I want to experience becoming a real estate agent. For sure other real estate marketing company will gladly accept me because of ahmmm… Hmm, let me think, ah… Because of my… hmmm… Professionalism?! Toinkzzzz…. Haha… But in case you know people who work for or who are into real estate, please do contact me. Maybe I wouldn't have to go abroad for my future after all… Let's wait for that day to arrive, and hopefully it will turn into reality and not just a mere insanity (wow rhyming!)…
Good Morning everyone! Have a great day ahead! I'm sleeping na!
at least you do recognize that you are more needed here. that’s a lot to say for someone who’s facing a lot of pressure (professional and financial) as a nurse to leave the country. looking for another way to make moolah first before giving up is truly a noble way to solve the problem of eing broke. here.
Posted by liz at April 10, 2007, 3:45 pmGo for it, kiddo. You’ll earn more than just money from being a real estate agent. I’d do that myself if I’m not stuck in front of the computer all the time. heheh

Liz: Damn I’m broke but I love my country…
I don’t want to leave my country suffering (awww… I’m so NOBLE!)
John: haha! thanks JOHN!
hi janus,
when i was at your age, ganun din ang thinking ko, most of my friends went abroad e.g.singapore, saudi, japan, canada, oz, US etc…
sabi ko noon, employed naman ako sa isang malaki at matatag na kumpanya sa atin, and i could support my family naman, so di ko siniseryoso talaga na lumabas. and besides, the idea of leaving my family is not that easy, kasi nung time na yun i experienced na to be out for 2 months at malungkot.
pero nung dumating ang time na lumaki na ang financial reqts. ng family ko, school, food, house etc. e napilitan akong mag retire and look for greener pasture outside.
i am not selling out the philippines naman, in fact i usually invite my foreigner friends to visit our country. the reality is that even when we’re outside the country, we are sending back money naman to help fuel the economy. and parehas lang din naman ang gagawin mo pag nasa labas ka, trabaho trabaho lang.
kaya para sa akin, it’s not brain drain, nut brain gain for the next generation, kasi nga, pag nagsawa ako sa trabahong ito e magtuturo na lang ako sa alma mater ko, kung tatanggapin nila ako.
regards

Posted by janusrichardronimo at April 11, 2007, 10:50 amwhen you spoke with the indians and chinese, ganoon din ang nangyari sa kanila, then they returned to their motherland and started doing business. kaya ngayon yumayaman na sila, lalo itong china. super yaman na ang government.
don’t you worry, our small help to our country will not be wasted, hayaan mo lang yang mga pulitiko na yan. basta tayo, laging wag kakalimutang lumingon sa pinanggalingan.
Posted by louie at April 11, 2007, 12:14 pmtrue! hehe… pero it seems that wala pa ring patutunguhan ang mga sakripisyo ng mga pinoy kasi naman sobrang tagal na ng mga OFw sa labas pero di parin yumayaman ang ating government… tsk tsk tsk….

the exile of health professionals is really very alarming. i do hope that you find a very financially rewarding career so you wouldn’t have to leave the country.
